The BBC is in crisis as thousands of American Doctor Who fans watch the series 7 finale early due to a BBC America stuff up.
US fans who preordered the series 7 part 2 blue ray box set were in for a mouth-watering surprise last night when they received the DVD a week early complete with the full edition of The Name of the Doctor.
All around the world spoiler-phobes are turning off their internet in an effort to avoid potential spoilers as the BBC rushes in attempts to quell the leaked information.
Doctor Who brand manager Edward Russell posted this on Twitter:
Production error in US means DW Blu-Ray shipped early. Let’s hope no one spoils it for those who want to enjoy it together on Saturday. This is like a Doctor Who version of the Dunkirk spirit! I know some folk want to boast, but it’s so much better if we all watch together.
Steven Moffat, talking at the BAFTAs this evening promised that if the secrets were kept then the BBC would release a video of Matt Smith and David Tennant (presumably from the Anniversary Special) – so if anyone has seen the episode – KEEP IT A SECRET – because I want to see this promised video!
So on behalf of everyone who wants to avoid spoilers, do not post anything.
I for one want to sit down on Sunday evening here in Australia and be wowed by the finale without knowing exactly what is going to happen.
