The Impossible Astronaut – Coming to cinemas in Australia

BBC Worldwide have revealed information about a special Australian event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who.

Cinemas all over the country will be screening simultaneously the series 6 opening double part story, The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon in what is being called “event television”.

Screenings will be at selected Event Cinemas and Village Cinemas on Thursday March 14th starting at 7pm.

Sharon Wilson, BBC Worldwide Australasia’s head of marketing for global brands, said:

“We’re building on the concept of “event television” by creating simultaneous Doctor Who experiences on big screens across Australia and New Zealand for the first time. It’s an opportunity for fans to enjoy the programmes and participate in the whole experience in a way that they’ve not been able to before. We hope this will be the start of more BBC Worldwide cinema events with our partners Event Cinemas and Village Cinemas.”

Tickets for the are available online at Event Cinemas or Village Cinemas or at the box offices.

The event is a one night only exclusive so tickets may go fast. I for one wouldn’t miss this event for the world!
